You might be surprised to read that at Unleashed, it’s not all about the dog.
Our Founder, Sophie, is a professionally certified dog trainer and behaviourist who loves dogs – just as you’d expect!

Here’s the difference - she’s also passionate about helping owners understand their dogs.
In the early years as a dog owner, although keen to learn, Sophie had many bad experiences with highly qualified dog trainers. They were excellent at getting her dog to do what they wanted but were unable to communicate or teach her and her family how to achieve the same results. These experiences were the catalyst for Sophie to create Unleashed. Sophie chose to leave her successful career in media to train professionally with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training, giving her business the best foundation possible.
Sophie recognises that not all dog owners are experts, even those who have owned dogs in the past. She also understands that puppies can be incredibly challenging for families with young children. Additionally, she is aware that many dog owners experience feelings of guilt, failure, and helplessness when facing challenges with their pets.
As a Mum of three lovely children she also understands firsthand the practical constraints of training a dog brought into a busy family.
Your lifestyle
For this reason, each of Sophie’s clients receive achievable, straightforward and fun training plans designed to fit in with their lifestyle and the realistic training goals they have set for their dogs. She is on hand to provide practical and sometimes emotional support for clients in between sessions.
Perhaps above all, Sophie is passionate about simplifying the world of dog training and behaviour and helping owners learn more about how, and why, their dogs do what they do, and how this behaviour can be channelled and corrected if necessary.
